Bio: Lincoln is a botanist and ecologist who has worked in the ecological consulting and restoration industry in Victoria since 1993. He was raised and educated in Indiana and Ohio USA, being awarded a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Environmental Science at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio in 1986.
He arrived in Australia in 1989 and went on to take part in the first Bush Regenerators Course in Melbourne in 1991 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Environmental Science from Deakin University in 1996.
Lincoln has run Practical Ecology, providing services in ecological consultancy and restoration across Victoria and Tasmania since 1993, and established a second business creating biodiversity offsets in 2010, which has gone on to use Trust for Nature covenants to permanently protect nine (9) bush blocks totalling almost 2,000 ha across Victoria and manage them for conservation.
Lincoln believes in “right livelihood”, doing good work when earning a living, and achieving environmental protection through practical action on the ground, through innovative legal and planning frameworks and working to educate and inspire people to act when they can.
Land Covenantors Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Victoria and their deep connections to land, water and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
